Overview
The PCI to XMC.3 module adapter allows a single width XMC module to be used in a PCI slot. The XMC module is VITA 42.3 compatible and supports 4x PCI Express lanes.

The J16 connector breakout provides convenient access to all J16 signals through an MDR 68 connector. Signals from J16 are routed as differential pairs to JP1 so that high speed IO standards can be used to the cable.

The adapter is completely transparent to all PCI operations through a PCI to PCI Express bridge (PLX8114). The bridge enumerates as a standard PCI device and provides direct, transparent accesses to the XMC module. The PCI Express interface supports 1 or 4 lanes to the XMC module.

LED lane indicators provide show lane status during operation. The XMC module mounts securely to the adapter using standoffs and with the end bracket. The bracket mates to standard PMC end brackets and supports an EMI gasket. All connectors from the XMC end bracket are fully accessible.

No software is required to operate the adapter. The bridge driver is a standard device in Windows and Linux systems.
