Overview
M6713 is a powerful and flexible DSP + FPGA board of novel architecture for advanced data capture and real-time control in PCI systems. Designed around Texas Instruments' most powerful floating-point Digital Signal Processor (DSP) for high-speed, high dynamic range signal processing, and Xilinx’s Spartan-3 platform Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) for unlimited customization of the I/O peripherals as well as hardware-accelerated signal processing, the M6713 adds high-speed, low latency IO and deterministic control to PC systems in a COTS (Commercially Off The Shelf) solution for a wide array of advanced real-time control applications such as communication test equipment, automated industrial test bench, SONAR/RADAR, semiconductor testing, medical instruments, vibration/acoustics monitoring, adaptive servo and other high-speed industrial controls.

Supporting this open-architecture hardware platform, the Pismo software tool set provides target and host libraries, practical utilities and numerous example programs that illustrate the use of all board peripherals at full bandwidth and greatly accelerate end-user system development. The packet-based PCI interface provides flexible control of the card from a host application as well as data transfer at maximum busmaster rates.
