Overview
The SIO VelociaPMC card is a powerful,
flexible architecture for high speed communications applications.
The SIO features ultra-fast serial and parallel digital
communication and real-time processing for applications such as
network testing, protocol analysis and channel verification. It
integrates state-of-the-art Virtex2 Pro FPGA for user-code, an
optional 1GHz ‘C6416 DSP and deep, fast memory on a 64/66 PCI
mezzanine format that make an ideal platform for BERT engines,
protocol and channel integrity testing.
Novel features include RocketIO’ based
serial ports with SFP connectors compatible with off-the-shelf
copper and fiber optic transceiver modules, deep DDR RAM dedicated
to FPGA for ample buffering and fast block-oriented processing, and
a direct PMC J4 DIO connection to the host card. This 64-bit J4
interface offers a 1.6GB/s transfer capable, low latency connection
to Innovative Integration’s Velocia series of DSP and FPGA
compactPCI boards and this port protocol can easily be reconfigured
in logic to communicate with third party host cards.
Full Software support is available for Windows so you can fit
this module to a PCI to PMC extender card and use in a Desktop PC or
fit direct to a PMC site on a Single Board Computer. |
