Analogue Input Boards

When configuring your PowerDNA® Distributed I/O Cube or RACKtangle I/O chassis, you may choose from a wide variety of analog input boards (layers). All boards come factory pre-installed and calibrated. Boards are available with up to 25 input channels, up to 24-bit resolution and up to 250 ksamples per second. Regardless of your application, we’re sure to have a board that will make the measurement you need.

The table below provides a brief overview of the currently available analog input boards. In the unlikely event you don’t see what you need, please give us a call or send us an email. We are working on new boards all the time. The board you need might only be weeks away.

Thermocouple Input Boards

The most common measurement in data acquisition systems is temperature. The most commonly used sensor in temperature measurement is the thermocouple (TC). UEI provides a variety of thermocouple measurement boards compatible with our PowerDNA cube. In addition to the measurement boards, we also provide screw terminal connectivity panels that provide the high quality Cold-Junction temperature sensing required to make an accurate thermocouple measurement.

Software included with the PowerDNA performs linearization for all common TCs as well as cold-junction compensation. Users may choose to automatically receive data in either °C or °F. Users of non-standard TCs, or those who do not wish to utilize the built-in linearization routines, may also have data returned in Volts.

Strain Gage Input Boards

UEI’s strain gage boards (layers) are designed for direct measurement of full-bridge strain gauges, load cells, force sensors, torque sensors as well as any other full-bridge circuitry-based sensors.

Boards feature overvoltage protection and provide isolated fully differential channels with a maximum sampling rate of 8kHz per channel. Strain gage boards support 2 wiring schemes (4 and 6-wire). You can also benefit from internal excitation of sensors through programmable voltage.

You can configure the boards for full-, half- and quarter-bridge measurements and perform onboard shunt calibration using supplied software.
