<p>To shorten time-to-market as much as possible, Enclustra offers broad design-in support for their products and a comprehensive ecosystem, offering all required hardware, software and support materials. Detailed documentation and reference designs make it easy to get started. A user manual, user schematics, a 3D model, PCB footprints, differential I/O length tables and the Linux-based Board Support Package (BSP) are all provided. In combination with ready-made base boards and heatsinks, developing an FPGA project has never been easier.</p>
<p>The design-in kits include 2 example applications, to get you started: AI face detection and image classification. They are based on ResNet50 and Xilinx Vitis AI. <p>The BittWare RFX-8440 data acquisition card features the third generation <a href="https://www.xilinx.com/products/technology/rfsampling.html#documentation" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Xilinx Zynq®</a> UltraScale+<img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/2122.png" alt="™" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> RFSoC ZU43DR. This innovative PCIe data acquisition card is capable of addressing the entire sub-6 gigahertz (GHz) spectrum – a critical need for applications such as 5G, LTE wireless, phased array RADAR and satellite communications.</p>
<p>The Xilinx Zynq® UltraScale+<img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/2122.png" alt="™" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> RFSoC integrates RF-class A/D and D/A converters into the Zynq® FPGA fabric and multi-core ARM processor subsystem, creating a multi-channel data conversion and processing solution on a single chip. With the product development, manufacturing, quality and lifecycle management capabilities of the Molex group behind it, the RFX-8440 is an Enterprise-class product ideal for rapid prototyping as well as volume deployment in end user systems.</p>
<p>The board is available with two different front ends:</p>

<p>The RFX-8440 FPGA design can be fully customized using VHDL and the FrameWork Logic Devkit.</p>
<p>The RFX-8440 board has eight high speed serial OCu-Link ports (25Gb/s each) for transport of data on and off the card.</p>
<p>A software development kit for host development includes C++ libraries and 64-bit drivers for Windows and Linux. An application demonstrating the module’s features, including streaming ADC &amp; DAC samples to/from disk, is provided.</p>

			<p><a href="https://www.isipkg.com/solutions/sensor-processing/">ISI LLC</a> have released the first board in a new family of high performance data acquisition modules that is centred around the Xilinx Kintex Ultrascale<sup>®</sup>.</p>
<p>The XU-AWG is an XMC module with two 8-lane high speed serial links: one on XMC connector P15, one on P16. These links can support several protocols (up to 8-lane PCIe on P15, Aurora, or user defined). The XU-AWG features two AC- coupled single-ended DAC outputs with programmable DC bias. The Analog Devices AD9162 high-speed/high performance DACs employ synchronization support, interpolation, fixed latency and unique output circuits supplying improved frequency synthesis in the 2nd and 3rd Nyquist zones.</p>
<p>A Xilinx Kintex Ultrascale XCKU060 FPGA with 4GB DDR4 RAM memory provides a high-performance DSP core for demanding applications such as RADAR and wireless IF generation. The close integration of the analog front-end, memory, and host interface with the FPGA enables real-time signal processing.</p>
<p>The XU XMC module couples a powerful multi-channel PCIe DMA architecture with a high performance 8-lane PCI Express link connected to the carrier. PCIe link speeds up to Gen3 are supported; however, the actual PCIe link performance depends on the XMC carrier as well as the host system.</p>
<p>The XU-AWG FPGA design can be fully customized using VHDL and the FrameWork Logic Devkit. Xilinx JESD204B IP license, purchased separately from Xilinx, is required for logic development.</p>
<p>A software development kit for host development includes C++ libraries and 64-bit drivers for Windows and Linux. An application demonstrating the module’s features, including streaming DAC samples from disk, is provided.</p>

			<h3>XA-160M supported by NVIDIA® Jetson for Distributed Acoustic Sensing</h3>
<p>Entegra Solutions is delighted to announce the <a href="https://www.entegra.co.uk/ii-products/xa-160m/">XA-160M</a> is now supported by the <a href="https://developer.nvidia.com/embedded/jetson-tx2-developer-kit" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">NVIDIA® Jetson</a>.  We have been working with <a href="https://www.isipkg.com/solutions/sensor-processing/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">ISI</a> to provide this new solution to our customers. This enables our customers to develop low cost, compact and revolutionary DAS systems. Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) is an important part of the photonics industry which is worth £12.9B to the UK economy (<a href="https://www.wnie.online/photonics-worth-12-9b-uk-economy/">WNIE 29 June 2017</a>). We are a leading supplier to this industry. Previously our solutions have been provided in a Windows or Linux based PC chassis. The NVIDIA® Jetson offers high performance in compact form factor ideal for some applications.</p>
<h3>Technology</h3>
<p>In <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rayleigh_scattering">Rayleigh scattering</a> based <strong><b>distributed acoustic sensing</b></strong> (DAS) systems use fibre optic cables to provide distributed strain sensing. In DAS, the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Optical_fiber_cable">optical fibre cable</a> becomes the sensing element and measurements are made, and in part processed, using an attached <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Optoelectronic_device">optoelectronic device</a>. Such a system allows acoustic frequency strain signals to be detected over large distances and in harsh environments. The systems can be based on Coherent Rayleigh Optical Time Domain Reflectometry (COTDR) or Phase-sensitive coherent optical time-domain reflectometry (ϕ-OTDR), amoungst other methods. The interference signal is captured and often a large FFT is required during the signal processing.</p>
<p>These systems need high speed data acquisition like the <a href="https://www.entegra.co.uk/ii-products/xa-160m/">XA-160M</a> which is ideal for these applications, as it has two 160 MSPS 16-bit ADC channels, two 615 MSPS 16-bit DAC channels and a Xilinx Artix-7 FPGA. In many cases the large FFT required in post signal processing has been run on mid tier Windows based PCs. The advance in computing technology for AI and autonomous systems has led to the development of new powerful low cost processors which can process large FFT&#8217;s. The NVIDIA® Jetson is ideal for this application.</p>
<h3>Revolution in DAS</h3>
<p>The combination of <a href="https://www.entegra.co.uk/ii-products/xa-160m/">XA-160M</a> and <a href="https://developer.nvidia.com/embedded/jetson-tx2-developer-kit" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">NVIDIA® Jetson</a> is a sweet spot of cost and performance for new DAS systems. It allows distributed low cost nodes to be built in compact portable or large integrated systems  bringing DAS technology to a wider market place. 			<p><a href="https://www.isipkg.com/solutions/sensor-processing/">ISI LLC</a> have released the third board in a new family of high performance data acquisition modules that is centred around the Xilinx Artix<sup>®</sup>-7.</p>
<p>The XA-TX is an XMC IO module featuring eight 16-bit, 300 MSPS DAC channels designed for high speed arbitrary waveform generation, wireless transmission, and RADAR pulse generation applications. Flexible trigger methods include counted frames, software triggering and external triggering. The sample rate clock is either an external clock or on- board programmable PLL clock source. Data acquisition control, signal processing, buffering, and system interface functions are implemented in a Xilinx Artix-7 FPGA device. Two 256Mx16 memories provide data buffering and FPGA computing memory.</p>
<p>The logic can be fully customized using VHDL and MATLAB using the FrameWork Logic toolset. The MATLAB BSP supports real-time hardware-in-the- loop development using the graphical, block diagram Simulink environment with Xilinx System Generator. The PCI Express 2.0 interface supports continuous data rates up to 3200 MB/ s between the module and the host. A flexible data packet system implemented over the PCIe interface provides both high data rates to the host that is readily expandable for custom applications.</p>
<p>The <a href="https://www.entegra.co.uk/ii-products/xa-tx/">XA-TX</a> module is a wideband multichannel signal generation FPGA board and has:</p>
<ul>
<li>Eight 300MSPS 16 bit Dac&#8217;s.</li>
<li>Artix<sup>®</sup>-7A200T2 with 33,650 slices, &gt;13Mb of block ram and 740 DSP slices.</li>
<li>1GB of DDR3 memory attached to the FPGA for use as virtual FIFO&#8217;s between the analogue front end and the 4 lane Gen2 PCIe interface.</li>
<li>A PLL and reference oscillator to provide the analogue front end with a high stability clock.</li>
<li>Four lanes of Aurora links for communication with other XA modules.</li>
<li>Flash memory for logic configuration storage.</li>
</ul>
<p>The board is ideal for multi channel transmitting applications such as beamforming, RADAR, LiDAR and optical. Innovative&#8217;s XMC modules can be used in a variety of hosts using their adapters and standalone hosts. This includes:</p>
<ul>
<li>Desktop PC&#8217;s &#8211; <a href="https://www.entegra.co.uk/ii-products/xmc-to-pci-adapter/">PCI adapter</a>, <a href="https://www.entegra.co.uk/ii-products/xmc-to-pci-express-adapter/">PCIe x1 adapter</a>, <a href="https://www.entegra.co.uk/ii-products/xmc-to-pci-express-8-lane-adapter-2/">PCIe x8 adapter</a>.</li>
<li>3U chassis &#8211; <a href="https://www.entegra.co.uk/ii-products/xmc-to-compactpci-adapter/">cPCI adapter</a>, <a href="https://www.entegra.co.uk/ii-products/xmc-to-pxie-bus-adapter/">PXIe adapter</a>.</li>
<li>VPX &#8211; <a href="https://www.entegra.co.uk/ii-products/xmc-to-vpx-adapter/">VPX adapter</a>.</li>
<li>Standalone PC&#8217;s &#8211; <a href="https://www.entegra.co.uk/ii-products/sbc-nano-atom-with-xmc-site/">ePC-nano</a>, <a href="https://www.entegra.co.uk/ii-products/epc-duo/">ePC-Duo</a>.</li>
</ul>
<p>All modules come complete with software drivers and examples for Windows and Linux operating systems. The libraries and example apps are written in C++ and are supplied with sourcecode. Customers who wish to customise the logic in the FPGA need to purchase the Framework Logic library.</p>
<p>The XA family will replace the X3 family which was released in 2007 around the Spartan3A DSP.</p>

			<p><a href="https://www.isipkg.com/solutions/sensor-processing/">ISI LLC</a> are been shipping the newest board in a new family of high performance data acquisition modules that is centred around the Xilinx Artix<sup>®</sup>-7. The XA-500M is targeted at Stimulus Response applications. These devices provide the highest performance-per-watt fabric, transceiver line rates, DSP processing, and Analogue Mixed Signal integration in a cost-optimized FPGA. The family is the best value for a variety of cost- and power-sensitive applications including software-defined radio, machine vision cameras, and low-end wireless backhaul. On top of that, the Vivado toolset is free to use on the Artix-7 family, including the largest device, the 7A200T2 which is used on the new XA family.</p>
